Chemical sensors

Chemical sensors

The interaction of gases with solids involving defects opens the possibility of detecting chemical species. In case of actual exchange of a species with an ionically or mixed conducting solid this leads to high selectivities.

Research areas:

Novel sensing principles
Sensors for acid-base-active gases (e.g. NH3, CO2
