Baroque meets modernity

Ludwigsburg is an attractive, modern, vibrant Baroque city. Founded in the early 18th century, the city today is a place where history and the present meet. Magnificent castles, romantic gardens, bustling shopping streets and sensational festivals are waiting to be explored by you. An integral part of the city’s unique charm is its outstanding and diverse cultural scene. Home to numerous cultural institutions, Ludwigsburg is widely known as a city of films and festivals.

The city is home to no less than three palaces: the magnificent Residential Palace, Favorite Palace, and Monrepos Lakeside Palace. With its 452 rooms spread across 18 buildings, the Residential Palace is Germany’s largest preserved Baroque palace.

A stroll through the unique palace museums will make your visit complete. Fragrant blossoms and magic moments on more than 75 acres of land await you at “Blühendes Barock” with its fairy-tale garden. The breath-taking permanent garden exhibition displays horticultural art from various eras and regions. The spacious park surrounding the Residential Palace is a feast for all the senses.
