 t on applications in catalysis\, advances in adsorption and energy storage
 \, also in relation to process development and engineering. Furthermore\, 
 a workshop entitled "Creating value with porous materials - From lab to pr
 oduction" will be offered on Wednesday morning. The German Zeolite Confere
 nce is the ideal start for young scientists to present their work to a bro
 ad specialist audience\, often for the first time in the form of a scienti

 e oxygen and hydrogen\, has long been a challenge in electron microscopy d
 ue to issues like multiple scattering and beam damage. In this talk\, I wi
 ll introduce multislice electron ptychography (MEP)\, a breakthrough techn
 ique that enables the record-breaking-resolution reconstruction of 3D atom
 ic structures with exceptional dose efficiency\, even in relatively thick 
 samples. I will begin by introducing MEP and its practical implementation.
  I will then present two groundbreaking applications that highlight MEP’
 s potential. First\, we use MEP to map critical oxygen point defects–vac
 ancies and interstitials–in Ruddlesden-Popper nickelate superconductors\
 , uncovering a direct correlation between local oxygen ordering and the ch
 arge carrier density that governs superconductivity. Next\, I will demonst
 rate how MEP enables visualization and quantification of hydrogen atoms in
  metal hydrides\, offering new insights into hydrogen storage and its dyna
 mics. Finally\, I will discuss the perspective of MEP\, focusing on its ex
 citing potential for studying hidden orders and in situ dynamic processes

DESCRIPTION: Atomic-resolution transmission electron microscopy techniques 
 hold immense promise for advancing quantum materials research. However\, p
 rogress has been hindered by the lack of low- temperature capabilities\, a
  prerequisite for studying quantum systems. In this talk\, I will highligh
 t two efforts to enable novel cryogenic measurements including the use of 
 liquid helium. The first centers on the development of atomic-resolution c
 ryogenic scanning transmission electron microscopy at liquid nitrogen temp
 erature. This breakthrough development has enabled the imaging of electron
 ic phase transitions and their evolution with picometer precision. I will 
 discuss recent results on charge order transitions and glassy polar order 
 in oxides. Second\, I will describe the approach undertaken by our lab in 
 the design and construction of stable liquid helium stages. Liquid helium 
 cooling in the TEM has long posed a formidable challenge\, but\, if realiz
 ed\, is poised to open new lines of inquiry into a variety of new material
 s and systems. We show that our liquid helium flow designs provide access 
 to temperatures below 30 K while maintaining atomic resolution performance
  with sub-Angstrom information transfer. The instrument further enables ex
 tended operation durations over 12 hours\, low drift (better than 0.4 Å/
 s)\, and temperature stability in the millikelvin range at base and interm
 ediate temperatures. Other hardware advances will be discussed\, including
  in situ capabilities. These advances pave the way for novel explorations 
 of ultra-low temperature phenomena in quantum electronic materials.\nSpeak
