Cation conductors

Solid ionic conductors (solid electrolytes) are characterized by a high mobility and / or high concentration of ionic defects. They can be classified as weakly disordered materials (low defect concentrations, high mobility) or as heavily disordered "superionic" conductors (high concentration of point defects).
