Doctoral Schools

The International Max Planck Research School for Condensed Matter Science (IMPRS-CMS) has been established in 2014 as successor of the very successful IMPRS for Advanced Materials (2002-2013). The objective of the research school is high-quality fundamental research on condensed matter using advanced experimental and theoretical methods. The school is a co-operation of the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, and the University of Stuttgart.

International Max Planck Research School for Condensed Matter Science

The International Max Planck Research School for Condensed Matter Science (IMPRS-CMS) has been established in 2014 as successor of the very successful IMPRS for Advanced Materials (2002-2013). The goal of the Max Planck Graduate Center for Quantum Materials is to provide comprehensive training in the field of quantum materials. As a key new feature, the Center introduces a set of high-level "Frontiers of Research" courses closely aligned with research at the Max Planck Institutes. Examples of "Frontiers of Research" in quantum materials are superconductivity, synthesis of quantum materials, quantum heterostructures, spin orbitronics, neuromorphic computing, or dynamical control.

Max Planck Graduate Center for Quantum Materials

The goal of the Max Planck Graduate Center for Quantum Materials is to provide comprehensive training in the field of quantum materials. It offers a unique opportunity for doctoral students toward cutting-edge research and a thorough training in the experimental methods and theoretical concepts at the intersection between nanoscale science and condensed matter physics, materials science, and bioengineering.
